Not all blocks are equal. Learn how to organize your huevsite to highlight your best projects and turn visits into opportunities.

Having a huevsite is the first step, but optimizing it is what really makes the difference between being just another builder and being "the" builder everyone wants to hire or follow.

Here are 5 practical tips to take your bento-box to the next level:

1. Visual hierarchy is King

The first block (usually the Hero) should clearly say who you are and what you do. But don't stop there. Use double width (col_span: 2) for your 1 or 2 most important projects. What the user sees without scrolling is the most critical.

2. Show metrics, not just code

Clients and recruiters love numbers. Instead of saying "I built a finance app", use a Metric block that says "+1,000 active users" or "$500 MRR". Tangible impact beats boring technical descriptions.

3. Your accent color is your brand

Don't pick a color at random. Your accent_color tints the buttons, the borders, and the Open Graph cards when you share your link. Use a color that contrasts well with the dark background and represents your personality (a tech cyan, a vibrant orange, or an elegant violet).

4. Keep "Building" up to date

The Building block is your activity feed. It doesn't have to be a finished project. Put "Refactoring the search engine" or "Learning Rust". This shows you're an active, curious builder — something that builds a lot of trust.

5. Clear call to action (CTA)

Do you want people to follow you on Twitter? To email you? To book a call? Make sure you have a social block or a direct link clearly visible. Don't make people hunt for how to contact you.

Bonus Pro Tip: Use sub-sites for your individual projects. Don't clutter your main profile with 20 blocks. Create a "child page" for that big project and let it shine on its own at its own URL.
