If you've ever shared the link to your portfolio in a chat or on your social networks, you'll have noticed that sometimes the image accompanying the link isn't exactly yours. Or worse: sometimes it doesn't even load your profile photo.
That just changed!
This week we rewrote from scratch the engine that generates those "little cards" (technically known as Open Graph images).
What exactly changed?
Starting today, every time someone pastes your link to huevsite.io/your-username on platforms like WhatsApp, Slack, LinkedIn, X, or Discord, the system will read your profile in real time and build a cover image uniquely and exclusively for you.
This new image now includes:
- Your profile photo (Avatar) front and center.
- Your own accent color decorating the card.
- Your exact name and title, so they know who you are before clicking.
If for some reason you hadn't uploaded a profile photo yet, don't worry! The system is smart enough to draw you a round, elegant icon with the first letter of your name bathed in your brand colors, so your portfolio never stops looking professional.
Why does this matter?
First impressions count. When you apply for a job or hand your portfolio to a potential partner, the thumbnail in the conversation is the first thing they'll see. Now you have full visual control over your brand before they even enter your huevsite.
