Not everyone comes to the feed looking for the same thing.
Some want to discover new builders. Others want to quickly get back to the people they already chose to follow.
That's why we added an improvement that seems obvious, but changes the experience a lot: now you can filter the feed between All and Following.
Two modes, two intentions
All
The All view is for exploration.
It's where you see activity from the entire ecosystem:
- new projects
- profile movements
- builders starting to show up
- fresh signals of what's happening in the network
It's ideal if you come in wanting to discover.
Following
The Following view is something else.
There the feed becomes more personal:
- you follow the progress of people you care about
- you come back to builders who already earned your trust
- you see faster if someone launched something new or updated their huevsite
It's ideal if you come in with continuity in mind.
Why this change matters
A good feed shouldn't just be for "seeing things". It should help you come back.
When there's a real following layer, huevsite stops being just a page you showed off once and becomes a place you return to because there's movement you care about.
Better discovery, better retention
The combination works like this:
- All improves discovery.
- Following improves depth and recurrence.
They don't compete with each other. They complement each other.
First you find interesting builders. Then you follow them. Then your feed gets more valuable over time.
Less generic feed, more context
The goal isn't to copy a massive social network.
The goal is for a builder to come to huevsite and within seconds be able to answer:
- what's moving in the community
- what the people I follow launched
- who's worth a closer look
With that filter, the feed stops being a flat list and starts to look like a tool.
